Part Lists and Filtering

There are two Part Lists available within MC Express:

  • All Parts: Displays all parts maintained in MC Express.

  • All Stocked Parts: Displays all parts that are recorded in a Stock Room. If the part has been recorded in the Stock Room, it will show on this list even if there are currently no items on hand or available.

Once a list is opened, the matching parts display, listed in alphabetical order by Part ID. Part IDs that begin with numbers display before Part IDs that begin with letters. The gray footer bar at the bottom of the page displays the total record count returned in the list.

Each displayed row includes the following:

  • Icon: An icon that provides a quick indication of whether or not the part is recorded in a Stock Room. Parts that are maintained in a Stock Room have a Pallet icon. Parts that are not maintained in a Stock Room have a Hand Cart (direct issue) icon. If a photo has been uploaded to the MRO for this part, the photo displays instead of the icon.

  • Part Information: Each part has the Part ID on the first row and the Part Name on the second row. If your organization is configured to use an Internal Part Number rather than Part ID, this displays on the first row instead.

  • Stocked Quantity: The third row shows the available quantity for the part. If the part is maintained in multiple Stock Rooms (or multiple bins), the total available quantity for all available Stock Rooms will show, and the row will indicate (Multiple Stock Rooms). If the part is only maintained in one Stock Room, it will show the available quantity in that Stock Room, and then indicate the Stock Room name.

The quantity displayed corresponds to "available" quantity rather than "on hand." Available quantity is a calculation of on hand quantity less any parts that have been reserved through estimated parts on a Preventive Maintenance Work Order. Also, the Stock Rooms included will be filtered by any Repair Center filtering you may have in effect.

ClosedOpen a Part

  • Select the part from the list.

    The Part Summary page opens.

ClosedSwitch to a different Part List

  1. Tap the currently displayed list name on the gray header bar.

A window opens, displaying the two available lists.

  2. Select the list you want to view.

Any additional criteria that may have been defined on the Filter page will be cleared.

To apply currently defined criteria to a different list, go to the Filter page, switch the list using the steps above, and then tap the Apply button.

ClosedRepair Center Filtering

The Part List filters to parts recorded in Stock Rooms tied to the currently filtered Repair Center. If a part is not associated with a specific Stock Room, it will always display, as only the Stock Room has a Repair Center association.

To change the default Repair Center filter, see our Settings topic. The Repair Center filter appears near the top of the Settings page.

ClosedFilter a List

Filter criteria is additive, as you specify more criteria, the resulting list will have fewer results. As an example, the All Parts list might return 600 parts. If you add criteria to filter to a particular Stock Room, the list might shorten to 400 parts. If you filtered to only see parts from a particular manufacturer, the list might shorten to 20 parts.

The current list appears on the gray header bar. If you would like to change the list before applying any additional criteria, tap the header bar and choose a different option.

The Stocked Part List is already filtered to any specified Repair Center defined on the Settings page.

  1. Tap the Filter button on the gray header bar.

    The Filter page opens.

  2. Enter or select your filter criteria.

The fields that can be used to filter the list are displayed in alphabetical order in the Select Field field.

  3. Tap the Apply button.

ClosedSearch for a Part

There are two methods to search for a part:

  • Global Search: You can use the Global Search feature to quickly find the record by entering or scanning the Part ID, Part Name, Part Description, Internal Part Number, or Vendor Part Number.

Global search results do not allow any additional filtering, therefore the Filter button does not display when Search Results are displayed.

To perform any additional filtering, you must first tap or tap the gray header bar to switch back to the regular list view. The Filter button will return.

  • Filter page: You can use the Filter page to define additional filter criteria to narrow down your list.

ClosedNot seeing all parts in a list?

If you are not seeing the results you would expect for the Part List, there are two things to check:

  • First: Do you have any default Repair Center filtering in effect? Default filtering for Repair Center is defined on the Settings page and remains in effect as you work in MC Express.

  • Second: Do you have any additional filter criteria in effect? Filter criteria defined on the Filter page remains in effect until it is cleared, or until you select a new list from either the Home page or Part List page.
