Meter tab: Asset

The Meter page displays fields to maintain two sets of meter readings on the asset, Meter 1 and Meter 2. For each meter reading, you can designate the type of reading used, such as units, mhz, revolutions, and so on, determine how these readings will affect child meters, and enable meter tracking.

To access this page, navigate to an asset record and click the Meter tab.

ClosedMeter tab Fields

The Meter tab contains the following fields:

  • This asset uses meter(s): Indicates whether meter readings are maintained on this asset.

This check box should be selected if meter information is kept for either Meter 1 or Meter 2 readings. This enables you to report on the meter readings in the Reporter.

  • Require Meter Reading Value in WO Task: Indicates that, if reading the meter is included on a work order as a task, a reading must be recorded before the task can be completed.

This check box is hidden by default. Use the Forms Manager to display the check box.

Meter 1 Info and Meter 2 Info

  • Current Reading: The current reading recorded for the meter.

You can use the calculator lookup if a calculation is required.

  • Life-to-Date Reading: The sum total of units based on the Current Reading field.

The system automatically calculates this reading after you save the record. If you enter a Current Reading that is less than the previous reading, the Life-to-Date Reading remains unchanged.

  • Units : The units measured by the meter.

You can use the units lookup to select a value.

Meter 1 Roll Down and Meter 2 Roll Down

  • Roll Down Meter Reading (to child nodes): Indicates whether the Current Reading on this meter should roll down to the Current Reading on child meters.

Meter readings can roll down to child meters in one of two ways:

    • Synchronize Readings: Indicates that the child meter's Current Reading should have the same Current Reading as the parent meter.

    • Add to Existing Readings: Indicates that the child meter's Current Reading should be incremented by the same amount the parent meter Current Reading has been incremented.

Meter 1 History and Meter 2 History

  • Track Meter History: Indicates whether each update to meter readings should be tracked

You can view the meter history by clicking the History button at the bottom of the page.
